After being raised in Tokyo and graduation from the Claremont Colleges with a B.A. in English Literature at Pitzer College, I took a job with Netflix’s Reed Hastings at one of his first ventures - Pure Software in Sunnyvale, CA. Working with a true luminary, and alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry, my experiences there set the bar for what I consider to be a successful startup. A startup should exist to change the world. I’ve been in ten world-changing startups since then, a few having very successful exits.

My expertise in Asia Pacific comes from growing up in Japan. I understand the business culture of Japan. I speak, read, and write Japanese including their basic alphabets in addition to kanji. While many people claim to be “fluent” in the Japanese language, I’m focused on ‘cultural fluency’. I know how to sell cutting edge solutions globally and will accelerate your path to success in Asia.

My sales experience in Silicon Valley spans the past few decades. I have worked in early phase startups and have been an advisor and mentor to angel and seed funded cybersecurity startups. Currently I am Silicon Valley based and as the President of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the ISSA am deeply connected with CISOs and C-Level decision makers nationally and globally.

My global team brings 30+ years of experience helping cybersecurity startups accelerate sales in Asia and the U.S. Market. We’ve worked with game-changing early-phase startups selling ‘bleeding edge’ solutions from general purpose hardware security modules to deception technology, and from AppSec to global security consulting services. In the ever morphing world of security my team has hands-on experience selling deeply technical solutions and building teams from the gound up. .
